Former GC Baseball Pitcher Makes 40-Man Roster for Red Sox

BOSTON, Mass. – The Boston Red Sox organization recently announced its 40-man roster, with former Georgia College Baseball player Josh Taylor (2014) earning a spot.

Taylor, who finished last season with the Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox, played one year at Georgia College after transferring from Scottsdale Community College in Arizona. He started 15 games for the Bobcats in 2014, going 7-4 with a 5.62 ERA and compiling 57 strikeouts over 83 1/3 innings.

Splitting time over three different teams last season in the minors, Taylor was a combined 3-7 with a 3.35 ERA in 48 relief appearances. He fanned 60 in his 53 2/3 innings, completing 13 saves in 16 opportunities.
