MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior Robin Moller (Hamburg, Germany) had the biggest singles win of his career Wednesday as part of a 5-2 win for No. 13 Georgia College Men's Tennis (7-2) over Newberry College (6-8) at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.

Moller beat the No. 12 player in the country in straight sets, marking his third win over nationally-ranked competition this season.

The Bobcats took the doubles point with shutouts in the first and third slots. Moller teamed with Matt Rogel (Sautron, France) to blank Edison Ambarzumjan and Enrico Haas. Rogel and Moller are now a team-best 7-2 this year. Nathan Connelly (McDonough) and Enzo Kohn (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) got the third slot win over Alex Amble and Lawrence Friedland.

Singles play started with a win for senior Jannik Kumbier (Neumunster, Germany) in the third slot by a pair of 6-1 sets over Sean Nguyen. Lawrence Friedland then cut the Bobcat lead in half by topping Kohn in sixth singles 7-6, 6-2. Sophomore Noah Wallace (Grayson) moved to 8-1 on the season with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Haas in the third slot.

Moller's upset clinched the team victory, as the junior beat No. 12 Ambarzumjan in first singles 6-4, 7-5. Moller is putting together quite the resume this season with an 8-0 record, including wins over Nos. 12, 21 and 30.

Team victory already in hand, Jose Navarro beat Rogel in second singles 7-6, 6-4. Closing out the match was junior Cole Heller (Woodstock) nabbing a marathon 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Amble in the fifth slot.

The Bobcats move to 6-1 at home this season, and have not lost at home in the month of March.

The Bobcats are back in action Friday, March 15 at 1 p.m., traveling to Emmanuel College for non-conference action.
