MARTINEZ, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced their weekly awards for the week ending Tuesday, April 12, with Georgia College’s Lindsey Conway (Madison, Ga.) being named PBC Freshman of the Week.

It is the first such honor for a Bobcat freshman this year, as the infielder hit .500 (6-for-12), leading the team to a 3-1 record.  Conway also drove in six runs in four games, while scoring three.

She helped the Bobcats secure the No. 6-seed in the upcoming PBC Tournament this weekend in Florence, S.C.

In GC’s 6-5 victory over then-No. 22 Armstrong Atlantic, Conway was a perfect 3-for-3, scoring once and driving in two.  She also went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a stolen base in the ‘Cats first game win over USC Aiken.  Conway was also perfect in the field, committing no errors in 19 chances.

Conway and the rest of the Bobcat softball team will be in action again this Friday, April 15 when they take on Columbus State University at 1:30 p.m. in the first round of the PBC Tournament.
