AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) released its Preseason Women's Basketball Coaches Poll Wednesday with Georgia College predicted to finish sixth in the conference receiving 70 points.
The University of North Georgia sits unanimously atop the poll receiving 121 out of a possible 121 points, and is followed up by Columbus State University (103), Lander University (93). Flagler College and Francis Marion University are tied at fourth receiving 90 points.
The Bobcats finished 18-12 overall and 14-8 in the PBC last season and return three of their top six scorers from the 2017-18 campaign. The Bobcats will be led by Erin Drynan (Chicago Illinois) who shot an impressive 57 percent from the field last season. Drynan is joined by fellow returning seniors Shay Tarver (Covington) and Sydney Cleveland (Gainesville), who will help carry the load offensively for the Bobcats.
Georgia College opens its season on Nov. 9 on the road against Wingate University at 5 p.m. The Bobcats don't play their home opener until Dec. 8 against Albany State University at 3 p.m.
