AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 30 Georgia College women's tennis team (12-9, 7-5 PBC) dominated the Pacers of USC Aiken (12-7, 6-5 PBC) Saturday afternoon, picking up a valuable 5-1 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) victory.

The top tandem of Kayla Barksdale (Augusta, Ga.) and Lisa Setyon-Ortenzio (Paris) continued their great run with an 8-1 win over Margot Simon and Shauna Williams, improving to a team-best 15-6 on the season.

May Johnson (Sydney, Australia) and Leah Pridegon (Lawrenceville, Ga.) also picked up a victory at the second doubles position for the 'Cats, dismantling Franziska Regel and Julie Maline 8-2. Despite limited time playing together, Johnson and Pridgeon have combined to go 4-1.

The Pacers picked up a win at the third position, as Andrea Cediel and Gina Kothari toppled Ivana Marevic (Rottweil, Germany) and Michelle Lingner (Dunwoody, Ga.) by a score of 9-8.

The 'Cats rebounded quickly with a win at the top singles spot, as regionally-ranked No. 20 Johnson defeated Simon 6-0, 6-3. Johnson improves her singles record to 13-5 on the season.

Regionally-ranked No. 19 Setyon-Ortenzio dominated Regel 6-0, 6-0 at the second singles position, improving to 7-3 on the season from that spot.

Barksdale would close out the win for the Bobcats with a 6-2, 6-0 performance against Cediel at the fourth singles spot. The win gives Barksdale her team-best 17th win of the year.

The victory marks the end of the PBC slate, but the Bobcats will hit the road to take on Valdosta State University Tuesday, April 17 at 4 p.m. for a non-conference showdown.
