MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior May Johnson (Sydney, Australia) of the Georgia College women’s tennis team has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for her performance on the court during the week ending March 24.
Johnson lost a total of four games in her three singles matches this week while playing in the No. 2 slot for the Bobcats.
She made quick work of Tanye Timko from IUP, winning 6-1, 6-1. Johnson then faced off against Ivana Krommelova from Clayton State University and cruised to another 6-1, 6-1 win. The senior finished the week with her most impressive win, blanking Lola White-Baer of Luther College 6-0, 6-0. Johnson was also 2-1 in doubles play, with wins against Clayton State and Luther College.
Johnson and the rest of the women’s tennis team returns to the court Friday, March 29 for Peach Belt Conference (PBC) match against UNC Pembroke at 2 p.m.
