LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Georgia College Women's Cross Country team bested a field of 43 teams Saturday, taking the team championship at the Louisville Classic Silver 5K Race.
The Bobcats had 154 team points, edging Division III Hope College by nine. The NAIA's University of St. Francis was third, with the Indiana University Run Club fourth and Monroe College junior college in fifth.
This marks the 10th team victory all-time in non-dual races for Bobcat Women's Cross Country and the first since the 2014 Bobcat Invitational.
Sophomore Sydney Brown (Canton, Georgia) led the Bobcats for the second-straight week, crossing the line in 11th at 19:22. Junior Maddy Howe (Dacula, Georgia) put two Bobcats in the top-20 with a 19th place finish in the 346-runner field, finishing in 19:46.
Third on the team and 29th overall was junior Rachel Boulineau (Canton, Georgia), taking the course in 19:57. Sophomore Tessa Allen (Atlanta, Georgia) took 35th overall in 20:03, while junior Kaitlyn Griffith (Cumming, Georgia) was 64th in 20:29.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Oct. 20 at the team's lone home meet, the Bobcat Invitational.
