MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The Georgia College & State University men's cross country team captured their 18th team title in program history as the captured the Bobcat Invitational presented by Chick-fil-A of Middle Georgia Friday (Oct. 9) evening.
The Bobcats won their second event of the season as they won the meet with 20 points, 31 better than second place Allen University.Â
Five of the 10 GCSU runners on the 8K Bobcat Cross Country Course. Allen's Salisu Habibu won the meet, but the Bobcats swept the next 10 spots. Leading the way for the Bobcats was
Evan Armstrong in second place at 27.26.6 and was followed by
Gavin Howland (27.27.3),
Levi Dailey (27.27.7),
Jaycob Wagner (27.39.9),
Peyton Harley (27.47.8),
Russ Benton (28.03.7),
Jackson Underwood (28.13.0),
Reed Glaser (28.46.1),
Owen Davies (29.15.4) and
Michael Perry (29.29.4). Armstrong, Howland, Dailey, Benton and Underwood all established personal-best times.
GCSU returns to action in two weeks on Oct. 24 when they travel to Huntsville, Alabama, to take part in the UAH Chargers Cross Country Invitational at 8 a.m. Central time.
