Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

The mission of the Georgia College & State University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare, acting as a liaison between student-athletes and administration, and fostering a positive student-athlete image. SAAC is made up of two student-athletes from each program to provide insight on the total student-athlete experience. SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations, and policies that affect the student-athletes’ lives on GCSU campus.

The purpose of SAAC is to promote unity among the entire athletics department and student-athletes involved, take an active role in community service in attempt to promote the University, athletics department, as well as a positive student-athlete image, and to address the concerns of student-athletes and serve as a bridge between administration, staff and student-athletes.

  • To provide a student-athlete voice within the campus community and to promote communication between student-athletes and the athletics administration.
  • To provide student-athletes with the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills through campus and community leadership opportunities.
  • To promote student-athlete involvement in community service projects and events on campus and in the community.
  • To promote a positive student-athlete image on campus
