The mission of the Georgia College & State University Student-Athlete Development & Success Program is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by cultivating the holistic growth and development of our Bobcat student-athletes. The purpose of the program is to provide resources to support each student-athlete’s development in three primary areas: Leadership, Development, and Community Engagement. The student-athlete development & success program strives to equip students with the skills needed to be successful for life after collegiate athletics and college.
Student-Athlete Leadership
To provide programming and opportunities that support and challenge student-athletes to become effective leaders on and off the field/court of play. The purpose is to empower student-athletes to cultivate their leadership skills that will prepare them to be effective leaders in their future careers.
Student-Athlete Development
Is dedicated to enhancing, develop, and empower student-athletes both personally as an individual and professionally as they begin their journey in career development. Student-Athletes can choose from a wide selection of events and workshops in each category that are sponsored by departments across the university or that are listed in the Bobcat Athletic Pathway and are specifically designed for student-athletes.
Student-Athlete Community Engagement
To provide opportunities for student-athletes to engage in service partnerships between GCSU Athletics and the local community.
The program is supervised by Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance & Student-Athlete Success Cathy Stevens.
