McCORMICK, S.C. | Georgia College & State University posted its best finish in a men's golf tournament in four years as the Bobcats came in fourth place at the Savannah Lakes Men's Invitational hosted by Lander University Tuesday (Sept. 16) afternoon.

The Bobcats shot the second-best score in the final round - four-under par 284 - and finished in fourth place at 16-under par 848 on the par 72, 7,032-yard layout at the Monticello Golf Club. GCSU's previous best finish in a tournament came in the 2022 Matt Dyas Invitational when the Bobcats placed fourth. This was also the first time since the 2021 Bearcat Classic  that the Bobcats had finished in the red numbers - under par - in each of the three rounds en route to them winning that tournament.

The University of South Carolina-Aiken, which is ranked 15th in the preseason Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Top 25 poll, won the 18-team tournament with a score of 830 (-34), 17 strokes better than No. 14 University of North Georgia and No. 6 Wingate University, which each shot 847 (-17).

Brady Schnaible shot a two-under par 70 in the final round as he finished tied for 12th place at 210 (-6). The freshman from Savannah, Georgia, registered under-par scores in each of his first three rounds as a collegiate golfer. Andy Scott shot an one-under par 71 and tied for 15th place at 211 (-5). Mason Pate finished in a tie for 25th place at 214 (-2) after posting an even-par 72 in the final round, Andrew Lutjens and Chase Blanton each finished at 219 and tied for 47th place. Blanton carded an one-under par 71, while Lutjens signed for a 76. Jimmy Coleman, who was playing as an individual, shot a 74 and finished in a tie for 97th place at 232.

The Bobcats next travel to Dahlonega, Georgia, to take part in the Lake Lanier Collegiate Classic hosted by North Georgia Monday (Sept. 21) at the Achasta Golf Club.
