Georgia College

Dr. JJ Arias is the Chair of the Economics and Finance Department at Georgia College and also serves as the Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) for Bobcat Athletics.  He has served as a chair and FAR since the fall of 2019.  In 2021, he attended the 12^th Annual Division II FAR Fellows Institute along with 16 other athletics representatives from across the nation.  They developed an enhanced understanding of the roles and critical functions of a Division II FAR.

Dr. Arias completed his undergrad in Economics at Pennsylvania State University in 1990 and finished his PhD in Economics in 1996 at Texas A&M.  He currently teaches intermediate macroeconomics and mathematical economics. His research interests are applied game theory, economics education and monetary economics.
