SAVANNAH, Ga.
- Reaching their highest slot of the 2009 season,
the Georgia College & State University baseball team (11-4, 3-0
PBC) and head coach Tom Carty jumped six slots to
the No. 12 spot in the latest Collegiate Baseball Magazine
Division II National Poll.
The Bobcats are in the midst of a 10-game winning streak, begun
with a 10-0 victory over Southern Connecticut State University Feb.
14. The run has included three game sweeps of SCSU and Peach Belt
Conference (PBC) opponent Armstrong Atlantic State University.
The Bobcats are the second of four PBC schools in the poll,
ranked behind No. 6 North Georgia and ahead of No. 19 Lander
University and No. 21 Francis Marion University. After being
outside the preseason rankings, the Bobcats have appeared in four
straight polls.
Georgia College is back in action tonight, March 6 at Georgia
Southwestern State University.
