MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Allowing a season-low in
points, the Georgia College & State University men's basketball
team (10-2, 3-0 PBC) remained undefeated in Peach Belt Conference
(PBC) play, topping Georgia Southwestern State University (4-9, 0-3
PBC) 80-42 tonight at the Centennial Center.
The Bobcats controlled the Hurricanes by controlling the glass,
31-17. Georgia College also turned over GSW 16 times while coughing
up just seven of its own.
Senior guard Jake Rios (Bozeman,
Mt.) led all scorers with 17 points, hitting 5-of-5 from
downtown. Andre Mikell
(Snellville, Ga.) had 14 as Josh Hurst (Athens,
Ga.) and Reece Wiedeman
(Suwanee, Ga.) had 10 each. Mikell added three assists and
four steals to his solid line.
The Bobcats dominated in shooting, hitting 59 percent (31-53)
compared to 39 percent (15-39) from the 'Canes. The Georgia
College bench held a 40-15 scoring advantage, while the 'Cats

surplus.
Senior guard Ty Rowland (Lilburn,
Ga.) had five assists tonight, surpassing Darrell
Flowers (1989-92) into fifth in career helps at Georgia
College. Rowland has 285, with the NCAA-era record looming next at

double-digit scorer for the Hurricanes. GSW recorded just two
assists. The final lead for the Hurricanes came with 18:40 left in
the first half.

at least one board. Aquino recorded eight points, a pair of blocks
and four steals as well.
