Clark Interview
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – First year Bobcat
coach Hope Clark recorded her first win at Georgia
College & State University (1-2) as the women's soccer
team blanked the Anderson University Trojans (3-1) 3-0 Friday night
in the second game of the 2010 Bobcat Invitational.
Georgia College scored two goals in the first half both off
assists by freshman midfielder Brittaney Borror (Evans, Ga.). Borror
connected with classmate Katie
Taylor (Sharpsburg, Ga.) at the 20:25 mark t o score
Taylor's second goal of the 2010 campaign. The assist was the
first of Borror's carrer and just over 10 minutes later,
Borror found freshman Alex
Knight (Loganville, Ga.) to give the Bobcats a 2-0
advantage. The goal gave Knight her first career goal at Georgia
College.
In the second half, freshman Taylor
Yee (Alpharetta, Ga.) knocked in her first goal of the
season off an assist by senior Jessica
Newland (Hiram, Ga.).
Goal stopper Taylor
Mulryan (Cumming, Ga.) stepped up tonight for the
'Cats playing the entire game allowing no goals and recording
four saves, her first career shut out.
Georgia College outshot Anderson 21-8 and led in corner kicks
5-1. The Trojans entered tonight's game having outscored
their opponents 15-2, including a 9-1 victory over Coker
College.
In other action, No. 13 Florida Tech University (3-0) shut out
Harding University (1-2) 4-0. Casey Lademann led the Panthers with
two goals.
The Bobcats play Florida Tech Sunday, Sept. 12 at 11 a.m. and
Harding will take on Anderson at 1:30 p.m. to finish out the Second
Annual Bobcat Invitational.
