MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Forwards Reece Wiedeman (Suwanee, Ga.) and Ryan Aquino (Roswell, Ga.) tallied 16 points apiece, helping Georgia College men's basketball (10-8, 4-6 PBC) to a 66-58 win over North Georgia (7-12, 4-6 PBC) Wednesday in the Centennial Center.

The Bobcat duo helped combat 10 three-pointers by the Saints, and stopped a four-game GC slide. The 6-foot-8 Aquino grabbed nine boards, while the 6-foot-8 Wiedeman pulled down eight and swatted three shots. Also with eight caroms was 6-foot-5 senior Josh Hurst (Athens, Ga.).

Junior Jared Holmes (Indianapolis) hit 6-of-6 from the free-throw line and finished with 10 points. Matching that scoring was classmate Mike Augustine (Waterloo, Ill.), hitting a pair of threes and 3-of-7 overall from the field.

Carl Taylor led North Georgia with 16 points, helped by 11 each from Chaun Tinney and Robby Goldsmith.

The Bobcat big men had a clear advantage, pulling in 44 rebounds to North Georgia's 29, accruing an 18-6 lead on the offensive glass. GC had points in the paint at 24-8.

Hurst's eight rebounds give him 504 in his career, just behind the sixth-best rebounder in school history, Johnny Simpson (1984-86) at 515. Wiedeman's three blocks pulls him to a tie with Chris Nelson (1998-2002) for fourth place with 73 career swats.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. at Clayton State University (15-5, 6-3 PBC). The Lakers most recently lost at Georgia Southwestern State University 78-67 tonight.
