GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Georgia College women's volleyball squad (4-21, 1-14 PBC) fell at Lander University (17-8, 7-7 PBC) in three sets, 25-15, 25-17, and 25-15 Saturday afternoon.

Freshmen Rachel Reynolds (Marietta, Ga.), Blake Willoughby (Savannah, Ga.) and Caroline Long (Roswell, Ga) led the Bobcats with five kills each. The next closest was Micayla Patterson (Tyrone, Ga.) with four.

The Bobcats had two with double-digit digs. Caroline Ham (Marietta, Ga.) had the most with 18 and she was accompanied by Ella Anastasiades (Atlanta, Ga.) with 16. Setter Patterson recorded 20 assists.

"We are learning just how tough it is playing on the road," said head coach Gretchen Krumdieck of her young Bobcat squad, owning a 1-11 road mark. "The silver lining is that we get to finish up with four home matches."

The Bobcats were unable to penetrate the Bearcat defense hitting only .062 to Lander's .262. Lander had two players with double-digit kills. Tarryn Angermeier led with 22 and Hannah Dederick tallied 17.
The Bearcat defense seemed to cover the entire field of play having four players with double-digit digs. Julia Ferreira-Alves recorded 15, Katelyn Kraft with 13, Kiki Hennessey with 12 and Kendall Korte with 11.

The Bobcats fall to 1-14 in PBC play, tied for ninth in the conference standings, with the top eight advancing to the PBC Tournament in mid-November. UNC Pembroke owns a two-match lead in the win column at the eight position and the Bobcats have three conference matches to go.

The Bobcats' next match will be a home bout in the Centennial Center against Francis Marion University (17-5, 9-4 PBC), Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. The Patriots most recently beat UNCP 3-2 Oct. 29.
