Bobcat Baseball Drops 6-5 Game at Young Harris

Box Score

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Georgia College baseball squad (25-15, 12-10 PBC) fell victim to a walk-off two-run home run to drop a 6-5 game to Young Harris College (20-19, 8-16 PBC) Saturday.

The Bobcats led 5-4 heading into the bottom half of the ninth, thanks to a three-run eighth, highlighted by a Jeremy Donaldson (Winder, Ga.) two-run single. After two outs, Mountain Lion second baseman Mike Medori was hit by a pitch.

After Medori stole a base, rightfielder Trey Rogers hit a 2-2 pitch over the leftfield fence for the 6-5 win.

Bobcat junior Rob Hogenkamp (St. Louis) had an RBI single in that three-run eighth, finishing 2-for-5 with that RBI. Second baseman Ryan Sabalaskey (Carol Stream, Ill.) was the Bobcats' other multi-hit performer, going 2-for-6. Taylor Hinshaw (Winder, Ga.) added two RBI.

Bobcat reliever Jordan Brooks (Macon, Ga.) fell to 2-2 with the loss. YHC reliever James Mills (3-3) tossed 1 1/3 innings to get the win. First baseman Dom Wyshinski was the hitting star for the Lions, going 4-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and a run.

The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow, April 21 at 1 p.m. with a doubleheader, needing to win both to take the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) series from Young Harris.
