MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Georgia College women's volleyball squad (7-11, 2-8 PBC) put the University of Montevallo (15-7, 7-3 PBC) to work Tuesday night. The Bobcats battled each set but fell 3-1.

The Bobcats entered the Falcons' arena ready for strong competition. Montevallo took an early lead in the match by winning the first set 25-19. The Bobcats pounced on the Falcons in the second set, taking it 25-17. The last two sets were full of action as well, but Montevallo came out on top ending them 28-26 and 25-22, respectively.

After knotting the score up three times early in the second set, the Bobcats were able to put together multiple runs that earned them consecutive points leading to their win. Maggie Roper (Buford, Georgia) and Miller Howard (Suwanee, Georgia) led the charge on the front row during that set.

Roper led the Bobcats in two categories with 18 kills and 22 digs, giving her yet another impressive double-double. Both Howard and Caroline Long (Roswell, Georgia) added eight kills each to the Bobcats' efforts. Not far behind were Ashley Savransky (Roswell, Georgia) and Bailey Freeman (Hillsborough, North Carolina) with six of their own.

Three other Bobcats had double-digit digs for the match. Defensive specialist Ella Anastasiades (Atlanta, Georgia) was close behind Roper with 20. Katie Ray (Cumming, Georgia) and Lindsey Holmes (Norcross, Georgia) put together 10 and 11 digs, respectively. Mollie Michel (Peachtree City, Georgia) also joined Roper for a double-double with 13 digs and 44 assists.

The Bobcats' next match will be on the road at Armstrong State University Friday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.
