SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Georgia College women's soccer team (3-10-1, 1-7 PBC) headed out of town to take on Armstrong State University (8-4, 4-3 PBC) Saturday. The Bobcats were unable to contain the number of shots from the Pirates and fell 5-0.

Armstrong took the field guns blazing as they celebrated their senior day. The Pirates netted their first goal in the 17th minute on their eighth shot of the match. A header by McKenzie Anderson led to the Pirates' second goal of the match in the 37th minute. Jenny Allen started off the scoring in both the first and second half as she scored the third goal of the match and her 10th for the season. Late in the second half the last two goals were placed in the net with the fifth occurring with 13 seconds left to play.

Freshman Meredith Carson (Alpharetta) made her debut as a starter for the Bobcats. The Pirates took a total of 30 shots for the match. She was able to make 11 saves which designates her career high, as well as the most by any goalkeeper for the Bobcats this season. Carson recorded the most saves for a goalkeeper since Annie Stephens (Fayetteville) made 16 stops at the University of North Georgia In 2012.

The Bobcats will travel to the University of Montevallo Saturday, Oct. 25 for a match at 8 p.m.
