MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women's soccer team (3-7-1, 1-5 PBC) faced off against Young Harris College (3-7, 1-5 PBC) for their sixth Peach Belt Conference (PBC) match of the season. The Bobcats struck early, winning 1-0.
The Bobcats came out swinging, controlling the ball heavily in the opening minutes of the match. In just eighth minute of play, Allyease Schwartz (Roswell) muscled up a quick pass to a turbo-charged Abby Dalton (Macon) who sped past defenders for the only goal of the match. It was the senior's first goal of the season.
The squad earned themselves a shutout, and goalkeeper Annie Stephens (Fayetteville) aided in that effort with three saves. She now has a total eight shut outs for her career, placing her at third all-time for the Bobcats. This was the Bobcats second shutout of the season, with their first one occurring during their 3-0 victory over West Georgia University. Tonight's victory broke a five game losing streak, as well as a scoreless one.
The Bobcats step back onto the field Saturday Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. to take on UNC Pembroke.
