Bobcat Men Travel to Fort Valley Saturday

GC men's basketball looks for a season sweep and a lead in the all-time series, traveling to Fort Valley State University Saturday for an 8 p.m. tip.

-Bobcats were dominant throughout the 86-41 victory in the Centennial Center
-Bobcats are 1-1 in away games this season and 1-1 as well on Saturdays this year
-Terrell Harris passed 1,000 career points this season, 512 at Mars Hill freshman year, 452 last season and 97 more this year; he has 549 points in his GC career
-41 points for Fort Valley Nov. 24 fewest given up by GC since Carson-Newman College had 30 on Nov. 19, 2010
-Four different players each have two 20-point games this season: Terrell Harris (2), Larrentis Thomas (2), Dwight Anderson (2) and Ryan Blumenthal (2)
-Larrentis Thomas had a streak of four-straight double-doubles fall short by one rebound at Clark Atlanta Thursday

LAST TIME THEY MET: GC 86, FVSU 41 (11/24/14, Milledgeville, Ga.)
In the first home victory of the season the Bobcats (3-2), used amazing defense and five double-digit scorers to beat Fort Valley State (0-3) ... The 41 points against marks the fewest points scored against the Bobcats since Carson-Newman College posted 30 on Nov. 19, 2010 ... Rio McMillian finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds, Larrentis Thomas added 16 points and a career-high 15 rebounds

MOST RECENT OUTINGS:
GM 7: GC 76, CAU 63 (Dec. 4): Ryan Blumenthal provided a neccessary spark off the bench with 21 points, including four threes and all five of his free-throw attempts ... GC trailed early 11-2, took the lead at 12:00 in the first and never surrendered it  

GM 6: GC 77, ASU 64 (Dec. 2): Georgia College trailed by as many as 11 in the first half but went on a 13-5 run to be down one at the half ... The Bobcats held the Golden Rams to just 28 percent from the floor in the second half ... Dwight Anderson came one point from his career high with 21, leading the Bobcats with 6 assists, while Larrentis Thomas added his fourth-straight double-double at 18 points and a career-high 15 rebounds

-Rank first in the PBC in opponent shooting (.369), and opponent 3-point shooting (.269) while also positioned second in blocks/game (5.1); Team leader in blocks is Rio McMillian at 16, good for first in the PBC; Kelvin Nwanze is fourth at 13
-The Bobcats have out-rebounded their opponents in 6 of the 7 games this year, including a season-best +20 against FVSU (61-41)

OFFENSIVE TRENDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
-Their shooting percentage has been above 40 percent in 5 of the 7 games this season; the best effort came in the season-opening win over Queens, an impressive 50 percent (31-62)
-Georgia College has either matched or put up more assists than its opponents in 6 of the 7 games, the biggest gap was a +9 (15-7) against FVSU Nov. 24
-Bobcats hit 50 percent from the floor, 50 percent from three point and 89 percent from the charity stripe in the win over Queens to start the year

THOMAS ON THE REBOUND
-Larrentis Thomas has put up double-digit boards in 4 of the last 5 contests, and is now averaging 10.4 rebounds per game, good for third in the PBC

-Junior Dwight Anderson lit up Clark Atlanta for 22 points in the loss at home Nov. 22, hitting 8-15 shooting
-He nearly matched that number in the win over Albany State Dec. 2, netting 21 points on 7-of-15
-The Minnesota native enjoys home cooking, scoring 18.3 per game
