#21 Bobcat Baseball Pounds North Greenville, 14-6

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The No. 21 Georgia College baseball team (15-4) got runs in bunches to beat North Greenville University (4-15) 14-6 on the road Thursday afternoon. The Bobcats jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the top of the fourth and never looked back.

Ryan Sabalaskey (Carol Stream, Ill.) and Brandon Benson (Loganville, Ga.) each hit home runs, finishing with two hits and four RBI apiece.  Georgia College got three in the first, four each in the fourth and fifth innings, and finished the barrage with three more in the seventh.

Starter Jake Anthony (Canton, Ga.) picked up his first win in a Bobcat uniform (1-0), going seven strong innings while allowing just one earned run. He surrendered eight hits and three walks, fanning two.

Designated hitter Taylor Hinshaw (Winder, Ga.) was 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, and rightfielder Jake Sandlin (Evans, Ga.) had a 2-for-3 game with two RBI and two runs scored. Catcher Steve Hazel (Kentwood, Mich.) scored three runs and drove in another while going 2-for-3 on the afternoon.

The Bobcats have now won five straight, and take that win streak into Friday night's action.

Due to predicted weather issues this weekend, the Georgia College series at Francis Marion University originally intended for Saturday-Sunday has been shifted up a day. The Bobcats now take on the Patriots Friday, March 14 at 6 p.m.
