Lucky 13s Send GC Men's Basketball Past Young Harris, 53-50

Box Score

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Georgia College men's basketball team (9-11, 3-8 PBC) completed an epic comeback with a 53-50 win at Young Harris College (5-12, 2-9 PBC) Wednesday night. Terrell Harris (Indiantown, Florida) and Larrentis Thomas (McDonough) each scored 13 points in the win.

Young Harris fired out of the gates, jumping out to a 14-2 lead over the first 7:23 of the game. The Bobcats rallied all the way back to a single possession at the half, 27-24 but it took until their second possession of the second half for Georgia College to grab its first lead.

A huge three-pointer by Harris with just under two minutes left gave the Bobcats a 52-47 advantage. After a three-point play from YHC's Isaiah Johnson cut the lead to 52-50, both teams struggled to score over the final 1:45.

Thomas hit 5-of-9 from the floor, sharing the team lead in rebounding at eight. Harris paced the team with four assists, and pulled in four rebounds of his own.

The Bobcat bench out-scored Young Harris 12-5, getting five each from Alex Reid (Savannah) and Evyn Smith (Snellville).

Georgia College out-shot Young Harris 37 percent (20-54) to 30 percent (18-60) from the floor. The 30 percent shooting marks the Bobcats' best defensive effort since the win over USC Aiken Dec. 17. The win snapped a six-game slide for the Bobcats.

Kevin Altidor led all scorers with 18 points, pulling in 10 rebounds for a double-double. Johnson finished with 12 points on the night.

The Bobcats will be back in action Saturday, Jan. 31 at 3:30 p.m., hosting Francis Marion University.
