Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College volleyball team (7-7, 2-4 PBC) came out strong, dominating the first set before Flagler College (10-3, 3-1 PBC) took the next three and the win Saturday in the Centennial Center.
The Bobcats hit an amazing .520 with just two errors in the first set, en route to a 25-15 victory. The final three frames went to the Saints 25-19, 25-12 and 25-16.
"I thought the score didn't reflect our play today," said head coach Gretchen Krumdieck. "Our offense kept us in the game. We're looking forward to getting back on the court this week."
Sophomore Bailey Freeman (Hillsborough, North Carolina) was active up front, talling 10 kills on just 19 attacks, hitting .474. She added four total blocks as well, finishing with 12 points. Taylor Svehla (Cumming) chipped in with eight kills, while Miller Howard (Suwanee) added seven. Freeman was great in that first set, six kills in seven tries with no errors.
Freshman Kayla Brockway (Jacksonville, Florida) posted 36 assists and seven digs. Sophomore Katie Ray (Cumming) led the team in digs with 17.
The Bobcats are back in action Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m., traveling to Columbus State University.
