MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College volleyball team (12-14, 6-11 PBC) clinched a Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament berth for the first time in program history Saturday after completing a sweep of UNC Pembroke (7-22, 2-13 PBC) in the Centennial Center.

"It was a great weekend, we played really well and everyone was really excited," said head coach Gretchen Krumdieck. "We played as a team, we set goals and we hit them, and that's all you can really ask for as a coach."

Georgia College controlled the three sets virtually from start to finish, the match featuring just four total lead changes. The Bobcats took the three sets 25-18, 25-19 and 25-23.

Fifteen Bobcats saw action today, with freshman Ebony Powers (Jacksonville, Florida) leading at 10 kills, hitting a blistering .556. Classmate Taylor Svehla (Cumming) added seven kills to the cause.

Freshman Kayla Brockway (Jacksonville, Florida) tallied 26 assists and nine digs, filling the boxscore with five kills and a block as well. Sophomore Katie Ray (Cumming) led the team with 11 digs. Brockway eclipsed the 800-assist mark for the season in this match with assist number two.

Prior to the match, the Bobcats honored their two seniors for Senior Day, as Ella Anastasiades (Atlanta) and Sydney Stripling (Douglasville) both played their final match at the Centennial Center. Anastasiades finished with eight digs tonight, while Stripling pulled up a dig as well.

The victory clinches a playoff spot for Georgia College volleyball for the first time in its three-year existence. The Bobcats finish the regular season at Augusta University Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m.
