Box Score

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Georgia College baseball team (3-7, 0-3 PBC) once again played No. 24 Flagler College (11-1, 6-0 PBC) tough Sunday, this time a three-run sixth providing the difference in a 6-4 loss for the Bobcats. With the win, Flagler takes the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) series 3-0.

The Bobcats were down early as Flagler got the first three runs of the game in the bottom of the third. Georgia College cut into the Saint lead with two in the fourth on a John Davis (Marietta, Georgia) single, plating both Steve Hazel (Kentwood, Michigan) and Dylan Cook (Portola Valley, California). Cook then answered the call in the fifth with an RBI single to tie the game.

Flagler got its deciding three runs from the bottom of the order in the sixth, as a pair of RBI singles sandwiched a run-scoring double. Georgia College threatened in the ninth, loading the bases with one out, but after first baseman Clay Ardeeser (Loganville, Georgia) scored one with a single to right, Flagler closer Michael Hanke entered and got the final two outs for the save.

Rightfielder Jake Sandlin (Evans, Georgia) and second baseman Cook each went 2-for-4, Cook scoring the one run and plating another.

Reliever Conner Alford (Macon, Georgia) took the loss, retiring two in the sixth inning to even out his record at 1-1. Flagler reliever Justin Ratte had 2 2/3 innings to get the win (1-0), and the save was Hanke's second. Saint leftfielder Dylan Jones was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.
