MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – With both teams scoring well underneath their season averages, the Georgia College men's basketball team (9-13, 3-10 PBC) came up on the short end of a 64-50 decision to GRU Augusta (17-5, 9-4 PBC) Wednesday night at the Centennial Center.

Senior Larrentis Thomas (McDonough) posted his 10th double-double of the season with 19 points and a career-best 16 rebounds. Thomas was 8-for-11 from the floor.

Junior Terrell Harris (Indiantown, Florida) added 17 points and five boards, including a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. The rest of the team struggled for offense, totaling 14 points, including just a pair from the Bobcat bench.

Georgia College got the first point of the game on a free-throw by Thomas, but the Jaguars responded with a 12-2 run. GRU got the lead to double-digits on a couple of occasions in the first half, but a Harris lay-in with 37 seconds left brought the halftime score to 31-23.

Keith Crump led the Jaguars with 14 points for the game, adding a game-high six assists. D'Angelo Boyce added 11 and Keshun Sherrill 10.

The Bobcats were out-shot 42 percent (18-43) to 36 percent (18-50) from the field, but gained a 37-28 rebounding advantage. The difference came in threes and free throws, as GRU nearly doubled the Bobcat effort in both categories, a 7-2 lead from long-range and 21-12 from the charity stripe.

The loss puts Georgia College at 3-10 in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play, positioned seventh in the West Division. The Bobcats are four games out of the PBC playoffs in the loss column with six games remaining.

Junior Rio McMillian (Park Forest, Ill.) swatted four shots in tonight's action, bringing him to 44 on the season, tying Jeremy Mayweather for fourth in school history.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Feb. 7 at 3:30 p.m., traveling to Columbus State University (17-3, 11-2 PBC). The Cougars most recently beat Clayton State University 76-74 tonight.
