Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College baseball team (17-13) had plenty of offense on display Saturday to take doubleheader action from Barry University (14-16) 12-11 and 13-5 at John Kurtz Field. The Bobcats have now won 10 of their last 11.

In game one, a three-run home run by first baseman Clay Ardeeser (Loganville) decided the contest, turning an 11-9 deficit into a 12-11 advantage with one swing of the bat.

Ardeeser finished 2-for-3 with three RBI and four runs scored, tallying a double to go with the round-tripper, his fourth this season. Catcher Steve Hazel (Kentwood, Michigan) drove in five on a 3-for-4 game, scoring a run. He blasted a grand slam to right in the second inning.

Rightfielder Logan Mattix (Loganville) had a 2-for-5 game with an RBI, and centerfielder Jake Sandlin (Evans) hit 2-for-4 with a run and a stolen base.

Junior reliever Jordan Brooks (Macon) improved to 2-0 with the win, allowing a single run over a pair of innings, fanning three. Chris Gammon (Chandler, Arizona) got the final six outs for his third save of the year.

In game two, the Bobcats had multi-run innings for the second, fourth, fifth and eighth to power past the Buccaneers.

Hazel had another home run, a solo blast to give him six on the season. Sandlin drove in five from the leadoff spot, including a three-run home run in the fourth, and a two-run double in the fifth. Sandlin has a team-best seven home runs this year. Ardeeser was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run, while second baseman Dylan Cook (Portola Valley, California) had two doubles in five trips, scoring a run.

Freshman Cameron Busby (Grovetown) picked up his first career victory (1-2), going six strong innings with four hits and two earned runs, striking out five.

The Bobcats are back in action Tuesday, March 31 at 6 p.m., traveling to Newberry College.
