MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 2-seed Georgia College softball team (44-8) scored five runs in the sixth inning Saturday to defeat the No. 3-seed Armstrong State Pirates (30-14) by a 5-3 score and move onto the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championship Game.

Armstrong took a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth and all hope looked lost for the Bobcats, who had notched just four hits through five innings. Georgia College heated up at the right time, scoring five runs on five hits in the sixth to secure the victory.

Freshman Holland Coursey (Sugar Hill) came through with the clutch, bases loaded single to give the Bobcats the 5-3 lead.

Marisa Boyette (Marietta) shut the door in the seventh, recording the win to move to 22-4 on the year. The junior came on in relief, pitching 1 and 2/3 shutout innings, striking out three.

Georgia College will face the University of North Georgia Nighthawks in the PBC Championship game, slated for a 7:20 first pitch tonight.
