MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College volleyball squad (6-6, 2-3 PBC) had stretches of solid offense, but couldn't pull of an upset of defending Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Champion Armstrong State University (7-4, 3-0 PBC), getting swept in Tuesday action at the Centennial Center.

The Pirates plundered all three sets, 25-19, 25-18 and 25-17.

"Tonight our offense was solid, they kept us in the match," said head coach Gretchen Krumdieck. "What kept us from being successful was our serve receive. We're going to work on that this week to prepare for matches this weekend."

The Bobcats hit a strong .255 for the match, committing just nine errors. Armstrong was just two points ahead at .257. The difference came with service aces, as the Pirates tallied a blistering 13 on the match.

Junior Miller Howard (Suwanee) led the way with nine kills, hitting .321. Howard had an ace and three total blocks, finishing with a team-high 10.5 points. Freshman Taylor Svehla (Cumming) contributed eight kills and four total blocks, finishing with 10 points of her own.

Freshman setter Kayla Brockway (Jacksonville, Florida) had 27 assists, and sophomore Katie Ray (Cumming) had a team-best 13 digs. Chandler Ewaldsen (Savannah) tallied 10 digs as well.

The Bobcats are back in action Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m., playing host to the College of Coastal Georgia.
