Box Score

AMERICUS, Ga. – Despite four starters in double-digit scoring, the Georgia College Men's Basketball team (18-9, 11-7 PBC) dropped a 96-78 game on the road at Georgia Southwestern State University (11-14, 7-11 PBC) Saturday.

Terrell Harris' (Indiantown, Florida) 26 points and 11 boards led the way for the Bobcats, his second straight double-double and eighth of his career. Senior Dwight Anderson (Minneapolis, Minnesota) scored 19 points, the 15th straight double-digit scoring game for the guard.

Junior Kelvin Nwanze (Lagos, Nigeria/Archer High (Ga.)) tallied 11 points, knocking down 5-for-9 from the field in matching his career high, set in the 2014-15 season. Freshman Isaac Thomas (Trion) added 10 points and six rebounds.

The Bobcats ran into a buzzsaw of an offense, as the Hurricanes hit 57 percent (35-62) of their shots from the floor. The Bobcats knocked down a respectable 46 percent (30-66) just the second time Georgia College has hit over 45 percent from the field and lost this season.

The Hurricanes had two 20-point scorers, led by Chandler Thomas with 25. Jure Gunjina added a 19-point, 17-rebound double-double.

The loss puts Georgia College at 11-7 in conference play, good for fourth in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) West Division, with two important games still in action at press time.

The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m., traveling to Lander University.
