Second-Half Surge Sends Bobcats Past Georgia Southwestern, 4-0

Box Score

AMERICUS, Ga. – With four different scorers finding the back of the net, Georgia College Soccer (7-5, 3-3 PBC) downed Georgia Southwestern State University (0-11, 0-6 PBC) 4-0 on the road Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats controlled play for the match but particularly the first half, owning a 13-1 shot advantage. It took until the 41st minute for the Bobcats to break through however, as junior Amanda Bartholomew (Peachtree City) netted her 14th goal of the year.

Things opened up in the second half, as it only took 2:26 in for the 2-0 Bobcat lead. Junior Unnbjorg Omarsdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland) doubled the Georgia College advantage with her first goal this season.

In the 50th minute, senior Sarah Miller (Duluth) found Becca Morris (Marietta) for the 3-0 lead, Morris' second strike of her freshman campaign, both coming in the last two matches. Junior Anya Mancinelli (Atlanta) capped the scoring in the 61st minute, her second goal in as many games, as Bartholomew tallied the assist.

Junior goalkeeper Ashlee Graham (Decatur, Georgia) picked up her second-straight shutout, stopping three shots. Sammie Conley made eight saves in the loss.

The Bobcats stay perfect at 12-0 against GSW all-time. The Bobcats are now 3-1 in October.
