GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Georgia College Volleyball team (15-5, 4-3 PBC) dominated Lander University (14-8, 4-5 PBC) in straight sets Tuesday on the road, as the Bobcats took a crucial Peach Belt Conference (PBC) matchup.

GC Volleyball used a 9-1 run in the middle of set one to jump out in front 25-16, then polished off the Bearcats with 25-18 and 25-17 sets.

"Tonight was a great win," said head coach Gretchen Krumdieck. "We came in knowing it was going to be a tough match so we were physically and mentally prepared. Our goal was to start out on top and we executed the game plan."

Sophomore Emily Crowell (Horseheads, New York) set down a team-high 11 kills without an error for an amazing .550 hitting percentage. Junior Ebony Powers (Jacksonville, Florida) helped her out with 10.

Setter Kayla Brockway (Jacksonville) had 31 assists and helped the offense further with seven kills. Senior Chandler Ewaldsen (Savannah, Georgia) and freshman Libby Bochniak (Marietta, Georgia) tied for the team lead with 13 digs.

The win puts Georgia College at 4-3 in league play, good for fourth in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Standings. The Bobcats have five conference contests remaining.

GC Volleyball is back in action Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m., hosting UNC Pembroke for Dig Pink Night in the Centennial Center.
