Box Score ATLANTA, Ga. – A late rally came up short for Georgia College Men's Basketball (2-2) Saturday as the Bobcats fell 63-54 at undefeated Clark Atlanta University (5-0) as part of the Clark Atlanta Classic.
The Bobcats trailed by as much as 12 with just under 5:30 left in the game and scrambled to get it down to two possessions at 58-54 after a Justin Cave (Savannah) three with 28 seconds left. Needing the Panthers to miss some free throws down the stretch they wouldn't oblige, instead going 5-for-6 over the final 28 seconds to ice the game.
Sophomore Kohl Roberts (Atlanta) led the Bobcats with 13 points and eight boards off the bench, his second double-digit effort this season. A Riverwood High alum, Roberts was playing in his hometown. Junior Isaac Thomas (Trion) joined him in double-digits, scoring 12—half of which came from the free-throw line—and pulling in eight boards of his own.
GC Men's Basketball was out-shot slightly 38 percent (21-55) to 34 percent (19-56) from the floor. The edge came at the free-throw line, where Clark Atlanta had 18 freebies made to 13 for the Bobcats. Akil Douglas and Jalen Mitchell paced the Panthers with 12 points apiece.
The Bobcats are back in action Monday, Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m., traveling to Lander University to start Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play.
