DAHLONEGA, Ga. – A seven-run seventh inning was what did in No. 22 Georgia College Baseball (16-7, 12-2 PBC) Saturday, as the Bobcats fell to the University of North Georgia (11-11, 5-6 PBC) 11-8 on the road.

In that deciding inning, the Nighthawks scored seven runs on just four hits and a pair of Bobcat errors. UNG hit two home runs in the inning, including a grand slam from Bill LeRoy. The Bobcats had a 6-3 lead heading into that inning, and were upended.

Georgia College had its share of offense, with three multi-hit performers and a solo home run from centerfielder Logan Mattix (Loganville) in the fifth. Designated hitter Brandt Stallings (Buford) finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored, while shortstop Cal Gentry (Perry) had two hits in five trips, scoring twice and driving in one. Third baseman Garrett Green (Bogart) also was 2-for-5, tallying an RBI.

The loss halts the Bobcat win streak at five games, and puts the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) series even at one game apiece.

The two teams take to the field again tomorrow, March 18 at 1 p.m. in the series-deciding matchup.
