GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Georgia College Volleyball team (6-12, 0-3 PBC) took Lander University (15-6, 4-1 PBC) to the limit in a five-set Bobcat loss on the road Saturday.

Things started promising, as a 25-22 first set went to Georgia College. The Bobcats doubled their advantage with a 26-24 second set. The Bearcats then responded, nabbing the next three sets 25-19, 25-15, 15-5 to close the match.  

The Bobcats put three attackers in double-digit kills, led by sophomore Sarah Stewart (Savannah, Georgia) at 15. The sophomore put down the 15 without a single error and hit a strong .385, her best single-match effort this season.

Sophomore Sarah Mangan (Farmingville, New York) added 10 kills to the cause and four total blocks for 13.5 points. Junior Libby Bochniak (Marietta, Georgia) had a 10-kill, 18-dig double-double.

Joining her with a double-dip of her own was freshman Emily Long (Mooresville, North Carolina) at 48 assists and 16 digs. The assist total was a career-high for the rookie. Leading the Bobcats in digs was junior Jordyn Moellering (Cumming, Georgia) with 38. Sophomore Morgan Overly (St. Simons Island, Georgia) brought up 13.

The Bobcats are back in action Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m., traveling to Augusta University.
