AUGUSTA, Ga. – Georgia College Volleyball (6-13, 0-4 PBC) couldn't solve the riddle of Augusta University (17-6, 2-2 PBC) at home, as the Jaguars improved to 7-0 in Christenberry Fieldhouse with a three-set match Tuesday night.
The first set was a close one, the Jaguars needing extra points to get past the Bobcats 29-27. GC had set point at 25-24, but Nicolette Ramos got a match-tying kill. Knotted up 27-27 after a kill by GC's Emma Boughner (Bogart), the Jaguars put down back-to-back kills to close the set. Augusta took momentum from there, 25-11 and 25-13.
Senior Emily Crowell (Horseheads, New York) led the Bobcats with seven kills, as GC had difficulty penetrating the Jaguar defense to the tune of .064 hitting. Boughner finished with four.
Freshman setter Emily Long (Mooresville, North Carolina) had 21 assists, and junior Jordyn Moellering (Cumming) led with 19 digs. Classmate Libby Bochniak (Marietta) added 14 digs to the defensive cause.
The Bobcats are back in action Friday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m., hosting Francis Marion University for Kids Night at the Centennial Center. GC Mascot Thunder will be on hand, and the Bobcats will also host an autograph signing.
