MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Volleyball squad (7-19, 1-10 PBC) fought hard against Lander University (19-8, 8-3 PBC) in the Centennial Center Friday, falling in five sets.

The Bobcats took the first set in a 27-25 marathon. Lander balanced things out with a 25-21 second set. Next came a 25-18 third frame in GC's favor. Backs against the wall, Lander responded with a 28-26 fourth set, momentum continuing to the fifth, resulting in a 15-12 final.

Senior Emily Crowell (Horseheads, New York) fired home 22 kills on the night, hitting a heavy .353 with just four errors. It was the first 20-kill match of Crowell's career, and she is the third Bobcat to pound out 20-plus kills this season.

Junior Libby Bochniak (Marietta) added 16 kills and 15 digs for a double-double.

The front line was busy with 15 team blocks, led by junior Emma Boughner (Bogart) with nine and Sarah Stewart (Savannah) and Sarah Mangan (Farmingville, New York) with five each.

Freshman Emily Long (Mooresville, North Carolina) had a 43-assist, 23-dig double-double, leading the Bobcats in both categories. Junior Jordyn Moellering (Cumming) and senior Nicole Cohen (Atlanta) each had 20.

The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m., playing host to USC Aiken for Senior Day.
