MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 6 Georgia College Baseball team (4-4) had its best offensive output of the series with No. 2 University of Tampa (5-2) Sunday, but it wasn't enough as the Bobcats fell 14-8 at John Kurtz Field.

As was characteristic of the four-game series with the Spartans, the Bobcats fell behind early, this time looking at an 8-0 hole after the top of the first.

The game started to shift Georgia College's way in the middle innings, as they cut Tampa's lead to 11-6 in the bottom of the fifth, but the Spartans would push away one more time to close it out.

Designated hitter Tarez Miller (McDonough) was 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. Second baseman Cal Gentry (Perry) also had three hits and a run with an RBI. Leftfielder KC Brown (Rincon) finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored, while Jay Saunders (Moultrie) had two hits a run and an RBI as a reserve.

Lefty starter Brad Spinner (Roswell) evened his record (1-1) by giving up four earned runs. Freshman Forrest Wilson (Marietta) was the strongest of six Bobcat pitchers, throwing a scoreless ninth with a strikeout.

Georgia College is back in action Wednesday, Feb. 13 as they travel to Carrollton to take on in-state rival University of West Georgia in a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
