MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – A pair of late rallies gave the Georgia College Softball team (25-10, 5-1 PBC) just enough room to take two games of a doubleheader from UNC Pembroke (9-19, 0-6 PBC) Sunday on Military Appreciation Day at the Peeler Complex.

Decked out in camouflage jerseys, the Bobcats snuck through three runs in the first of game one, two coming in on a double from sophomore Haley Howell (Rochelle).

After a run for UNCP in the third answered by two in the fourth, GC was seemingly in the driver's seat, up 5-1. The tides turned as the fifth brought a grand slam for UNCP designated player Jessica Auld to tie the game.

Georgia College answered right back in the bottom half, taking the lead again on a Darby Pinkard (Acworth) RBI single. Two more runs came across in the sixth to give the Bobcats some elbow room and an 8-5 final.

Senior Kayla Price (Indian Land, South Carolina) grabbed a win in relief, throwing the final three innings scoreless, with one hit and a walk. Price moves to 5-1 on the year.

Senior Caroline Snider (Tennille) was 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI to lead the offense.

Game two was a come-from behind effort, despite the Bobcats scoring the first five runs of the game. A four-run fifth for UNCP put the Bobcats behind 6-5 after a three-run home run from second baseman Alex Watkins.

It took until the bottom of the sixth, but the Bobcats got an answer. GC plated four runs, getting RBI singles from Snider, Howell, freshman Ariel Edenfield (Dublin) and a run-scoring triple from classmate Hannah Rogers (Marietta).

Freshman Rachel Wolverton (Valdosta) got the win (3-0) in relief, getting the final seven outs scoreless with two hits.

Rogers was 3-for-4 with a home run shy of the cycle, adding a run and an RBI. Snider had two hits in three trips, driving in three. Edenfield added a 2-for-4 effort with two RBIs and a run, while junior Amber Coy (Warner Robins) had two hits in two at-bats, scoring once and driving in another.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, March 30 at noon, playing host to Francis Marion University (20-11, 1-3 PBC) for the final "Tailgate Tour" event of the year. The Patriots will play at USC Aiken and Erskine College before coming to Milledgeville.
