CARROLLTON, Ga. – Two strong defenses went head-to-head Sunday and neither blinked, as Georgia College Soccer (1-4-1) reached a scoreless tie at the University of West Georgia (2-2-1).
For 110 minutes, both teams put their stingy defenses on display.
UWG managed 16 shots and Georgia College 11, but the experience-laden defensive line of Kai Jeffries (Lawrenceville), Lydia Atkinson (Monroe), Kayla Ruiz (Milton) and Erin Ferris (Atlanta) only allowed three tries to reach Bobcat goalkeeper Kate Richardson (Marietta).
The freshman came up aces, stopping all three attempts, including a solid chance for the Wolves in the 108th minute.
GC Soccer remains undefeated at 5-0-1 against West Georgia all-time.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Sept. 28 at 3 p.m., hosting Lander University for GC Soccer's Tailgate Tour event.
