MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Men's Basketball team (9-9, 6-4 PBC) evened its record and moved its win streak to four with a 69-66 upset of perennial region power Augusta University (11-7, 6-4 PBC) Saturday at the Centennial Center.

Knocking down double-digit threes for the third straight ballgame, the Bobcats surged in front midway through the first half, leading for the final 23:33 of action over the 2019 NCAA Regional Finalists.

Junior Jordan Thomas (Conyers) led all scorers with 27 points, hitting 8-for-16 from the field and three from long range. He also went 8-of-10 from the free-throw line, including three of his last four to help keep the Jaguars at bay over the final minute.

Sophomore Chris Parks (Buford) had a near double-double of 17 points and six boards, hitting three from beyond the arc as well. Junior Justin Cave (Savannah) and freshman Brandon Thomas (McDonough) each contributed eight points.

The Bobcats out-shot the Jaguars 43 to 40 percent from the field, and had a 12-7 advantage in points off turnovers. GC led by as many as 14 points, that coming with 10:12 in the first on a pair of Jordan Thomas free throws for a 26-12 score.

The Jaguars wouldn't go away, getting the game down to one possession on two occasions over the final four minutes. A Parks three and 3-of-4 from the line from Jordan Thomas—all in the final 77 seconds—helped seal the deal.

The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m., traveling to Peach Belt Conference (PBC) leader Lander University (14-4, 8-2 PBC). The Bearcats most recently beat USC Aiken 88-83 at home today.
