Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Softball team (1-3) played two games Sunday to close the GC-hosted Bobcat Classic, falling to Coker University (3-1) and Auburn University-Montgomery (3-1).

GC was edged by the 2019 NCAA Regional Participant Coker Cobras 3-1 after leading 1-0 for the first three innings.

The Bobcats took the lead in the first, Jessie Barre (Pooler) singling home Amber Coy (Warner Robins). Coker evened the game in the fourth with an RBI single of its own, taking the lead in the fifth with a sacrifice fly. GC had their best chance at evening the game in the bottom of the fifth, placing runners on second and third with just one out, but the Cobras slithered out of the jam.

After an insurance run in the top of the seventh, the Bobcats couldn't mount a final comeback.

Barre finished 2-for-3 with the RBI. Sophomore Ariel Edenfield (Dublin) had her best game in the ring, a complete-game effort with three runs and five strikeouts (0-1).

In game two AUM ran away with the win, plating three runs each in the first and second, then five in the fifth for an 11-3 run-rule victory after five.

Coy, Darby Pinkard (Acworth) and Hannah Patridge (Watkinsville) each drove in runs. Megan Bell (Forsyth) took the loss (0-1) in 2 1/3 innings of work.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Feb. 15 at 1 p.m., playing host to North Greenville University. GC Softball will team with the Animal Rescue Foundation for "Bark at the Park Day".
