MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Charged by 32 points from senior Jordan Thomas (Conyers), the Georgia College Men's Basketball team (3-2, 3-2 PBC) beat Young Harris College (2-3, 2-2 PBC) 71-57 Monday at the Centennial Center.

Thomas made good on 12 of his 24 shots from the field, including five makes from long range. He also pulled in four rebounds. He did a lot of his damage by slashing to the hole and knocking down floating layups. The 30-point effort was the seventh of his career.

Freshman Luke Chism (Dawsonville) chipped in 10 points, his second double-digit effort of the season. Wesley Simpson (DeLand, Florida/Union Grove HS [Ga.]) and Christian Koneman (Chatsworth) added nine points each, as eight different Bobcats contributed to the scoring.

The game remained close throughout the first half, with Georgia College finally taking over the lead for good at 8:06 left in the first half. Thomas made one of his five threes at that mark, and the Bobcats never trailed from that point.

The Bobcats stretched their lead out with a huge 16-4 run midway through the second half, and when the dust settled, GC was up 18 with 10:27 left.

Georgia College controlled everything in close, taking a 26-14 advantage in points in the paint and 11-2 in second-chance points.
