MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Volleyball team (6-10, 1-2 PBC) picked up their first Peach Belt Conference (PBC) win of the young season Friday, beating Lander University (8-6, 1-3 PBC) in four sets at the Centennial Center.

The Bobcats took the first set 25-19 then dropped the second 25-22. GC then swept the final two by 25-22 and 25-20 scores to escape with the win.

The GC Volleyball offense had their best hitting night in a conference matchup this season, posting a .168 clip. Graduate student Sarah Stewart (Savannah) led the Bobcats with 14 kills, while senior Sarah Mangan (Farmingville, New York) added 12 on a blistering .450 hitting.

Stewart had her third-straight double-double, adding 12 digs to the cause. Senior setter Lauren Talele (Woodstock) also had a double-double with 35 assists and 15 digs.

Sophomore Bella DeSalvo (Hamilton, Ohio) led five Bobcat players with double-digit digs, joining Stewart, Talele, 16 from Ally Hall (Cumming) and 10 from Emily Long (Mooresville, North Carolina).

The Bobcats have now won three-straight against the Bearcats.

The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m., hosting Flagler College.
