Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Blistering the nets for 18 three-pointers, the Georgia College Men's Basketball team (1-0) started 2021-22 on the right foot with a dominant 91-69 win over Coker University (0-1) in day one of the Tri-Conference Challenge at the Centennial Center Friday.
Senior Jordan Thomas (Conyers) led all scorers with 22 points, including 5-for-9 from long range. He also pulled in five rebounds and handed out five assists. Freshman Jamal Taylor (Sparta) added 13 points off the bench and was nearly perfect at 5-for-6 from the field.
Sophomore Brandon Thomas (McDonough) added 12 points, all coming from beyond the arc. Freshman Zyair Greene (Lithonia) posted 11 points, hitting three from long range.
The 18 threes are the most by a Bobcat team since Jan. 4, 2020 when GC hit 18 against USC Aiken. The last time GC had more than 18 was a school-record 24 against Carver Bible College, Dec. 3, 2009.
The Cobras led at 19-17 at the 10:55 mark in the first half, but the Bobcats responded with a 11-0 run to take over. The Bobcats led by double digits for the final 17:20 of the game.
Georgia College picks up a win in its second-straight season-opener.
The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow, Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m., closing out the Tri-Conference Challenge with Erskine College.
