Bobcat Volleyball Strong in Non-Conference Win at Albany State

ALBANY, Ga. – The Georgia College Volleyball team (9-19) posted a convincing four-set win at Albany State University (12-10) Tuesday night in non-conference action.

The Bobcats took the first two sets by 25-15 scores, then the Rams snuck away with the third 30-28. Georgia College closed the match with a 25-20 effort in the fourth. GC posted the most kills in the first set with 12, but had its best hitting set in the second at .189.

GC had a strong front line, tallying 18 team blocks. Leaders were Sarah Mangan (Farmingville, New York) with nine, Mary Kate Kotzin (Dunwoody) with eight and Emily Sweatman (Fayetteville) with six.

Leading the attack was freshman Ally Hall (Cumming) at 13 kills, hitting .297. Kotzin added 12 kills to finish with a team-best 17.5 points for the match, and graduate student Sarah Stewart (Savannah) posted 10.

Senior setter Lauren Talele (Woodstock) guided the offense with 35 assists and 15 digs for a double-double. Also posting double-doubles were Hall with 15 digs and Stewart at a team-best 17. Sophomore Bella DeSalvo (Hamilton, Ohio) added 16 to the cause, while Morgan Overly (St. Simons Island) chipped in 15, giving the Bobcats five players with double-digit digs.

The Bobcats are back in action Friday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m., traveling to Lander University.
