Box Score MORROW, Ga. – The Georgia College Men's Basketball team (3-1) closed the Clayton State Classic with a 77-48 drubbing of Clark Atlanta University (2-3) Saturday afternoon.
The Bobcats held the Panthers to just 48 points, allowing just 28 percent shooting on the day, and only 12 percent from long range.
Junior Christian Koneman (Chatsworth) led a balanced GC scoring attack, netting nearly as many points as minutes played, scoring 17 in 19 minutes. He yanked down a team-high eight rebounds as well, hitting three of the Bobcats' 10 three-pointers.
Senior Jordan Thomas (Conyers) scored 15 points, giving him double-digit scoring in all four games this season. He added six rebounds and a game-best eight assists. Sophomore Richard Crawford III (Evans) got the Bobcats started early, pouring in two threes and eight points in the first 10 minutes, finishing with 11 for the game.
The Bobcats struck early and often, with Crawford knocking down a three on the first possession to spark a 13-2 start. GC shot 44 percent from the field and out-rebounded the Panthers 45-35.
GC Men's Hoops is now 9-4 all-time against the CAU Panthers.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m., traveling to Auburn University Montgomery.
