Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala.- The Georgia College Men's Basketball Team (4-1) overcame a first-half six-point deficit to get the late game win at Auburn University at Montgomery (1-5) Saturday night, 67-63.
The first half resulted in a 36-30 AUM lead. The second half was all GC as they scored 37 to Auburn Montgomery's 27. GC trailed going into the final 1:30 but were able to net six points and come out on top.
Wesley Simpson (DeLand, Florida/Union Grove HS [Ga.]) banked more than a third of the GC points with 25 for a season-high. Simpson went 10-for-16 from field-goal range and 3-for-5 from the free-throw stripe. The Bobcats had a total of seven steals with Simpson leading the team at two.
The second leading scorer for GC was Jordan Thomas (Conyers, Georgia) as he recorded 20 points. Thomas went 5-for-9 from the arc and shot 100 percent from the free-throw line. Thomas added six rebounds to his boxscore which was second most on the team.
Luke Chism (Dawsonville, Georgia) patrolled both baskets as he had nine rebounds to lead the Bobcats. Chism tied for second in assists with two only trailing freshman Jamal Taylor (Sparta, Georgia), who had three.
